I’m looking for an English speaking program for electrical engineering in Eastern Europe (preferably Germany or Russia) or Scandinavia. Does anyone know of some that I can apply to?
So for those of us who are picky about the way I worded the original question. I am looking for an Eastern European, English speaking school for EE. BUT, I would prefer Germany, Russia or Scandinavia over any other countries (in Eastern Europe or not). I figured I would make the question title as broad as possible. Any help would be great, thanks.

First you have to work on your geography skills,
Germany or Scandinavia is not Eastern Europe.

While it didn’t have quite the medieval grandeur of Prague, or the modern feel of Warsaw, Hungary was really very special in its own unique way. We stayed in Budapest, and took a day trip to Kecskemet. The language is unlike any in the world, but distantly related to Finnish and Estonian. We had our ninth anniversary dinner at Gundel, a really world-class restaurant in Budapest.

Hungarians are progressing quickly out of their post-Communist haze, and it’s a really wonderful, culturally rich country. I highly recommend a visit!

Put some adverts in newsagent windows, there’s a news agents on whitechapel high street with lots of ads for accomodation from Eastern Europeans so that could be good for a start. Put an advert on craigslist.com . Maybe vivastreet too.Lots of cafe staff are Eastern European and starbucks has notice boards now, put an ad up in a few of them. Put adverts in the notice boards at language schools, there are loads of them around Tottenham Court Road tube. There’s a Polish delicatessen in Dalston on Balls Pond Road, near to Dalston Kingsland overgroun d, perhaps they have a noticeboard. There is the Polish Club near to Hammersmith, they might be able to help.

Good luck!

Thinking about going there with my wife in August, We’ve been on two vacations to Europe and loved them, but this would be our first one to eastern Europe.

I love Tallin, Estonia (old town, townhouse, windy cobbled streets with many interesting shops, Russian orthodox churches) and like Vilnius, Lithuania (architecture and nice people) but didn’t enjoy Riga, Latvia, so much. Maybe it was due to the daily rain when I was there. But as I was there in autumn (November), the circus was in town, and it reminded me of the Barnum and Bailey show-type of circus as opposed to what we have nowadays, e.g. Cirque de Soliel.

Poland is definitely worth going to; Warsaw – old town and interesting architecture, Krakow – market in old town, cobbled streets, salt cathedral/spa/ex-mine, Austwich and Berkanau – history.
