What exactly is the fall of eastern europe?

I have this paper that i have to do and its due tomorrow, and i have to explain what caused the fall of eastern europe. Can you help me?please

The wall came down. Soviet Union ran out of money, people yearned to be free. Then East Germans pulled the wall down. Next thing you know it the Russian army surrounds the Duma and they dissolve the Communist Party and remake everything into the Russian Federation.

Yay for Democracy. Nay for Communism.
