How does the UK feel about Russia after Gordon Brown went to Europe and asked the EU to punish them and they ?

wouldn’t do it. The EU fears their oil supply will be cut off because that is what Russia promised if they were going to be punished. How do you feel about Russia’s way of dealing with Europe?

Personally, I think that the EU was right. I like my oil, thanks very much – and like the economy isn’t in a bad enough state, without the turmoil Russia turning off the tap would cause. I also think that Russia was in the right to take action against Georgia (who were invading areas that have in effect been independent for at least a decade), even if they did go a bit far in the actions they took. So, I think no more or less about Russia than I did before, whilst I think Brown is an idiot for even attempting to impose sanctions on Russia. Yes, they do have a lot of power over the EU, but to be honest they’re not really abusing it all that much at the moment, and if we let the USA get away with breaking international law (all this crap about Georgia being a sovereign state – what was Iraq??) then why not Russia.

We should leave the EU (and NATO for that matter) tomorrow. Leave everyone else to sort out their own problems. We’ve been doing it for them for the last 500 years – they should be able to manage on their own by now.

Russia’s way of dealing with Europe (in this regard) is fair enough. Brown is a US poodle and had been ordered to try to rope in the EU to condemn Russia anyway. What Russia does in its own backyard is 1000 times more above board than what the US does ON ANOTHER CONTINENT ENTIRELY. If Russia was on the American Continent doing stuff the US would have something to say about it, wouldn’t they? Like f*** off or ELSE? Unbelievable.

EDIT: To my good friend Dillon I, hurry up and die.

  6. Can’t say I agree entirely with Hideous sun demon ( he looks a bit scary) but I see his point, the Russians are arrogant bastards and always have been, and now they are tapping their new resources and are wealthy again, they are in turn flexing their muscles once more and will try to dominate Europe in the coming decades for sure, they can’t stand the fact that the US in many ways was responsible for covertly bringing down their stinking empire and dominance over the Soviet block countries, so now they are back and we are seeing the wimpy EU groveling at their feet for fear of losing out on energy deals.

England or should I say Britain has always shown more guts than its European partners, it stood alone fighting for the free world for nearly two years while the rest of Europe capitulated against the krauts, so why the hell should we bow to these ugly Russian mugs, we all seem to be pointing at the US for our problems, I think it would serve us right if they decided to pull out of NATO as some Americans want to do and leave Europe to the mercy and eventual dominance of the Russians.

Edit: By the way, Dillon the dipshit I, eat sh1t and die!!

  9. It was very unthinkable of Brown to show how tough he is.A politician of his level should be much more diplomatic and to be able to consider all aspects of current situation (instead of blindly following the US aggressive rhetoric)
In fact Western Europe doesn `t have ANY reason to complain about "Russia`s way of dealing with Europe" . As to some problems occurring sometimes between Russia and Eastern European countries (ex-soviet republic in particular) it`s kind of a "family matter". When a couple get divorced lots of dirt emerge. But it will be fine after some time. As only the governments will stop look back pointlessly blaming each other and trying to involve the whole world in their inner issues.

Russia doesn`t benefit from the conflict with Georgia at all. But US does: trying to show Russia as a monster and themselves as the world risque team. In addition, they NEVER help anybody for free. georgia is a very convenient place for attacking Iran .
Russia didn`t surround US with missiles systems, but US does in Poland and Czech republic.
Russia is definitely cannot be called democratic country yet (but belive me Georgia is even much far from the democracy even US tries to show them as a little democratic victim of a big ambitious neighbour) , but it`s a matter of time. They just started to recover after a deep collapse and they don`t seek for conflicts . However, they have to respond to aggression against them.

  10. Maybe you want to recheck who actually defused
this problem. The british government has no good
standing with continental Europeans. And specifically
not with Russia. Frankly. It seems to me it has no good
standing with quite a few Brits as well.
