How much would backpacking through Europe cost for 2 months?

Roughly. My friend and I want to go backpacking through Europe after we graduate from high school. We have a ton of countries we want to go to but will probably have to cut it down. We’ll stay in hostels. It would be two of us backpacking for two months. Roughly how much does this cost? What kind of food do we eat? Do we buy it from a market or do the hostel places have stuff? And how many countries do you think we can backpack through in two months?

With US $ 50,00 you’ll be starving, with $100,00 you’ll get cocky and maybe buy some drugs.

So, the US 75,00 per day and person is just perfect and for the 60 days you’ll need about $ 4,500.00

Also leave some money in a safe account for emergencies.
Roughly $1,000.00 dollars.

Buy food in the markets and make your own sandwich, noodles or soups. The veg and fruit is now plentiful and reasonably priced.

  2. We did 17 countries in 2 months and it cost us $18,000 for the two of us. We also stayed in nice hotels and ate at good restaurants. The first time we went through Europe for two months we spent about $5000 each but we did stay in hotels and campgrounds (50/50)

Hostels, camping, buying food at markets, not going into places will all reduce your costs but really all you are doing is reducing your experience of the place.

  3. It would be really hard to do on less than about $100.00USD a day. $6,000.00 dollars or so.

  5. Not really an answer to your question but it should give you some idea, I’ve stayed in a hostel in downtown Athens, Greece and it was like 15 euro per night. Also there was a cheap grocery store next door. I was kinda down and out lol so I made it through a week on 50 euro, beat THAT lol. but yeah, I was kinda suprised, the accomodation was cheap. Name of that hostel was victor hugo, I’d recommend it.
